Wednesday, August 10th, 2011

We are very pleased to announce that we have taken on a new member to the design team, junior designer James Eelbeck.

James comes to us with a 1st Class Honours Degree from UWE in Product Design Innovation, as well as winning awards such as “Innovator of the Year 2009″ for packaging innovation, and an RSA award for the category “Make Something Disappear”, which was a brief focussed towards sustainability. James’ winning product was an energy saving toaster entitled ‘Love Toast’, which saves the consumer time and money by reducing the energy used to toast their bread.

Vortex Camera Mast Films London Marathon

Wednesday, April 20th, 2011

Did you watch the London Marathon this year? You may have noticed some really great shots from Vortex – which was positioned at the end of The Mall, in front of Buckingham Palace. Vortex was capturing shots of the runners approaching the corner and then it dropped down as it followed them round the corner and filmed them from ground level looking straight down The Mall. With the lovely sunny weather it really shows what great shots Vortex can produce.

Here’s the view from the top:

Vortex Carbon Composites TV Film Camera Mast Filming Marathon

You can WATCH IT HERE for the next few days at least… iPlayer will nuke this pretty soon I am sure so I appologise for the loss of link when this happens… :(

For those of you who don’t know Vortex is a 30m carbon composite TV camera mast that can do ground to 30m tracking shots in 15 seconds. It is compact and trailer-able behind a Land Rover. It rigs in under 10 minutes, which is unheard of for most broadcast TV camera masts or towers. Realise were the CAD designers and helped Matthew from Cammotion put together the technical team that carried out all the engineering product development and prototyping on the award winning Vortex.

Vortex Used in Opening Shots of “Attack The Block”

Thursday, March 17th, 2011

Cammotion’s Vortex Camera Mast were used for the opening tower block shots in a new film “Attack the Block”. The film by the producers of Shaun of the Dead, is based in a London housing Estate invaded by really nasty aliens. And somehow it falls to the local teen gang to sort them out. It has just been screened at the US Film Festival, South By Southwest and went down a storm. UK release date is 17th May. Here’s the preview trailer:

Back to Baiscs…

Thursday, May 13th, 2010

The Realise trio spent a fantastic morning out last week with the staff and students of Britford and Odstock Primary Schools in Salisbury.

The two schools are merging and from September the new school will be known as Longford Primary; so to accompany the new name, a new logo was needed and this is where we came in. Due to Andrew’s strong links with the school, we were the ideal candidates for the task and we decided to use the creativity and imagination of the children to help us with the brief of re branding their new school.

We planned the session well and produced a range of resources to help us with our lesson. We had a few worries that our pitch would not be suitable, however the young scholars understood the task extremely well and they produced a wide range of ideas that were both original and imaginative.
